Description

Dive deeply into the richness of both Kyoto and Nara as you visit temples, shrines, and even the Imperial Palace. Treat yourself to a day in the majestic splendor of these ancient places. Start your adventure into history in Kyoto, one of Japan's ancient capitals. Begin with a visit to important historical sights such as Nijo Castle, the Temple of the Golden Pavilion, and Kyoto's Imperial Palace. After visiting these wonders, break for lunch before making your way to the idyllic town of Nara. In Nara, take a moment of Zen at the tranquil Todaiji Temple, home of the world's largest Buddha statue. Learn the legends about the deer that freely roam Nara Park. Stroll through the gardens with these friendly creatures until you reach the Kasuga Grand Shrine.
